We are very happy winning an ISPO Award with our new harness Orion.

There are three key factors for making a good harness – load transmission,
ergonomic design and effective ventilation. EDELRID’s 3D Vent Technology
combines them all in a unique and innovative manner.

Additionally we won another ISPO Award for the combination of our twin Flycatcher ropes in conjunction with our new Micro Jul belay device.

The Flycatcher has a diameter of 6.9 mm, which makes it the skinniest and lightest twin rope in the world. The Micro Jul is an ultra-light, versatile belay and abseil device and was designed specifically for use with the Flycatcher. They will be available as a set (two ropes and the Micro Jul).

Last but not least, we were also the winner of the ISPO Award “Product of the Year 2013” in the outdoor segment with our new dual-diameter rope Snipe 9,8 / 10 mm rope. This is a huge honor and we are very proud to receive such a prestigious award.

Our innovative EnduroTec technology has made it possible, for the first time ever, to produce a single rope with two different diameters. The different sections have different performance characteristics. Having a thicker sheath on the first 7m at both ends of the rope, means there is a noticeable increase in durability. Meanwhile the middle section of the rope retains a lighter, narrower diameter allowing it to run more smoothly through carabiners and belay devices.
