Together we have already achieved a lot – and written our very own story. A story that tells of the environmental management system EMAS and the standard DIN ISO 14001, the strict bluesign® standard of our ropes and the organic cotton of our textiles or projects in cooperation with the European Outdoor Conservation Association (eoca). In doing so, we master every challenge and keep setting new goals!
And this is also where our steel story begins: While there are almost countless possibilities to produce sustainable textiles you will quickly reach the limits when it comes to metals. For this reason we are particularly proud that we can tell you a story with a happy ending! With the sustainable production of our carabiners, quickdraw kits and belay devices we laid the foundation for a further sustainable product segment within the EDELRID range... This much may be revealed – it is a good story, in which steel and aluminum play the leading role!
Curious?
Then visit us at this year's Outdoor in Friedrichshafen and we promise you that this won't be the only exciting story we have to tell you!
In the mean time discover further captivating stories about sustainability on our Homepage.
We are looking forward to your visit!
Your EDELRID TEAM
As an outdoor equipment manufacturer, EDELRID sees it as self-evident that it acts with the greatest possible respect towards the environment. However, pur-suing sustainability in a consistent manner is a balancing act. The EDELRID Swift Eco Dry rope represents a further important step towards producing more sustainable and eco-friendly outdoor equipment.
The HMS Bulletproof FG is an innovative and robust HMS carabiner with a steel insert at the apex and an internal spring bar to prevent cross loading. It com-bines the advantages of both a steel carabiner and an aluminium carabiner. The steel insert at the carabiner apex protects this section which is particularly sub-jected to abrasion, the rest of the carabiner is made from particularly lightweight aluminium. The HMS Bulletproof FG is available as a screwgate or triple lock version.
EDELRID is launching the Parrot 9.8, a rope made with reused sheath yarns left over from production. In an upcycling process, up to 95% of high-quality leftover yarns are reused. Rather than discarding them, the sheath yarns left over from standard production are used to make new ropes. This signifi-cantly reduces the amount of waste. And as the color of the leftover yarns can-not be planned in advance, each Parrot 9.8 mm production batch has a unique color mix. This means that each rope is unique.
The Mega Jul Sport is born of the Mega Jul and the Jul²: it offers the Jul²'s ge-ometry combined with the Mega Jul's delicate structure and double eyelet.
Its body is made from stainless steel. At the lower end, where the rope runs over the device when belaying and releasing, cooling ridges have been incorporated into the steel. Similarly to the tubes on a radiator, these enable faster heat dissipation. This means that the device cools down faster as the frictional heat can be given off more quickly.
